Joey’s Story

Joey Weiner of Sauk Centre is a 30-year breast cancer survivor who suffered a nasty fall in July 2023 resulting in a fracture to her right arm. Radiation treatments from 1994 have deteriorated the 71-year-old’s bone quality — making treatment and recovery difficult. Dylan’s Story

Dylan Anhorn, a St. Cloud State University Men’s Hockey defenseman and team captain, suffered an injury off the ice.

“I wasn’t sure if I’d ever play hockey again,” Dylan confessed. “It was a scary thought at first … I don’t think I’d be standing here today if it weren’t for the way they repaired what was a really serious injury. I’m extremely grateful.”

LeRae’s Story

LeRae Rengel of Clear Lake slipped on the ice and suffered a knee injury — a severed anterior cruciate ligament (LACL) and multiple tears in her meniscus.

“A friend mentioned Dr. Kyle Martin, from CentraCare M Physicians Orthopedics, was a surgeon for the St. Cloud State hockey athletes. He said, he was amazing and ‘we trust him, we think you’ll trust him, too,’” said LeRae.

Austin’s Story

Austin was 17 when an ACL and meniscus tear changed his life. After multiple surgeries and failed reconstructions over 10 years, he began to lose hope that his pain would go away.

Working with Kyle Martin, MD, he became one of the first patients in St. Cloud to undergo a meniscus transplant. Today, Austin is more than 18 months out from his most recent surgery and doing well. So much so that he has returned to activities he enjoyed before his knee injuries.

It was a few days before Christmas when Joe Guy got the call that every parent dreads. His three children were in a serious car accident — and two of them needed major surgery.
