Specialized Care, Close to Home
Being an avid bow hunter, Dan was preparing for the fall 2018 deer season
like he had in years past. Oddly, he didn't have his normal amount of
energy. At first, he blamed the lack of energy on getting older, but the
thought that "something wasn't right" alarmed him.

Six of our CentraCare locations offer Pritkin Intensive Cardiac Rehab (ICR), a comprehensive cardiac rehab program which includes the following:
- Medically supervised exercise tailored to your current fitness level
- Pritikin-exclusive workshops and classes
- Education focused on three pillars: regular exercise, a healthy mindset and heart-healthy eating
The education program consists of:
- A medication class led by a pharmacist
- An exercise class led by an exercise physiologist
- Healthy mindset classes led by a behavioral health specialist
- Nutrition workshops and cooking demos led by dietitians. As part of Pritikin ICR, all patients have an opportunity to meet 1:1 with a registered dietitian. Try some of these heart-healthy recipes.
