An iPad, Nintendo® Wii™ and other advanced technology may be used as part of your therapy. You also may choose to join in evening activities with our volunteers or sit on the patio and enjoy some fresh air.

You may also wish to bring pictures or other reminders of home or hobby items, such as books, puzzles and crafts to help you adjust to your new environment.
Electronics
Cell phones are ok to use on the unit. Each room has a landline phone and a nurse can help you or your loved one use it, if needed. There is a toll-free number that family members may use to get updates on your condition from a nurse. Computer access is available in the family lounge and WiFi is available in the patient rooms. You may use your own radio or CD player. A DVD/VCR is available upon request along with a movie list.
Patient and Family Involvement
Inpatient Rehabilitation programs are designed to work with you or your loved one to improve function. Patients on the rehabilitation unit have more responsibility in their own care. Rehabilitation focuses on teaching you and your family how to take care of you. This may include managing your own medications to prepare you for going home.
You and your family are the most important members of the rehabilitation team. We encourage family members to be involved in your treatment. Our team reviews your progress and barriers to discharge with you and your family during a weekly team meeting. In addition to providing moral support, family will be asked to take part in therapy sessions to learn techniques to help you after you are discharged.
Visiting Hours
Similar to other units at the hospital, our visitor hours are 7 am to 8 pm daily.
Your Next Destination
Discharge planning begins when you are admitted to our rehabilitation unit. The rehabilitation team will work with you and your family to make plans for home care or other services, medical equipment, outpatient therapies or other community resources.
After leaving the rehabilitation unit, many of our patients are able to go home.
Thank you for considering the St Cloud Hospital Rehabilitation Unit for your post acute care needs. We look forward to working with you and your loved one.
