Biography What I Do
I want my patients to know that I am here to work with them, and I believe they have many skills and abilities to manage whatever is happening in their lives. I am here to help my patients build and strengthen their skills and find ways to continue growing as a person.
I believe that building a relationship with my patients is the most important focus of therapy. It is not easy for anyone to seek help, including children and teens, and being able to share personal information comes with building a relationship of honesty and trust with your therapist. I also believe that many emotions and behaviors come from a protective place and approach my patients’ difficulties from a strengths-based perspective. I work with parents and families to help identify the function of a child or teen’s behavior and help them make changes that lead to healing and growth.
My clinical interests include trauma, multicultural understanding, anxiety and depression. I’ve completed additional training in transgender and gender-diverse medical care.
Why I Love My Work
I have always been interested in people and their life stories and noticed that children and teens are usually much more perceptive and have much more to say than adults may realize. What I enjoy most about my job is being given the chance to hear someone’s story and provide patience, understanding and validation in working together to help them find their way.
I appreciate the wide range of experiences of my patients and their families. I have learned so much about hunting, farming and navigating small-town communities during my time at CentraCare.
Getting to Know Me
I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors and family time with my daughter and husband.
