    What I Do

My philosophy as a Physical Therapist is to recognize that I am often invited into people's lives not of their own choosing, but in moments of need. It is therefore my honor to be present, listen, and together discover each unique person's optimal care needs and what is most important to them and those around them. As their physical therapist, I promote movement and build upon strengths while striving to be an instrument of hope and encouragement through my words, support through my actions, and empowerment through instruction and learning.

My clinical interests include Geriatrics, Orthopedics and Joint Replacement Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and Home Health & Hospice Care; Hospital Emergency Response Team & Hospital Emergency Incident Command System; Physical Therapist / Physical Therapist Assistant Clinical Education.

    Why I Love My Work

What I enjoy most about my job is that I have the privilege of bringing physical therapy care to people who are unable to participate in traditional clinic-based care. Patients open their homes to me, similar to that of a trusted friend, and I strive to bring care, support and to serve them and their caregivers as a member of their health care team. This uniquely places me in their place of living where, together, we work toward once again thriving at home and in the community.

My motivation for going into health care was the inherent ministry of caring for, supporting, and serving persons in need. Of the many health care related fields. I chose physical therapy because of an experience of my mother who had credited the work of her physical therapist for helping her to regain her ability to walk and essentially bringing her function and mobility back to lead a meaningful life.

    Getting to Know Me

My interests include spending time with my wife and enjoying our kids and their activities; listening to music and singing along; household and automotive maintenance; going to the local sportsman's club; writing; learning something new or helpful; and I also enjoy my ministries in the Church as well as learning bioethics and health care ethical considerations. One unique fact about me is that I am an ordained minister in the Roman Catholic Diocese of New Ulm.
