    Biography

Dr. Leif Olson is a family medicine physician at Meeker Memorial Clinic in Litchfield.

    What I Do

As a family medicine physician, I care for patients of all ages and backgrounds, treating acute conditions, chronic conditions and diseases, and supporting health in individuals, families and communities.

Patients often do well when they have the information they need to make their own decisions. I like to listen and to understand, so that we can work together to develop a care plan.

    Why I Love My Work

For me, family medicine is the most interesting and worthwhile thing to do! There is so much variety in practicing medicine, and it always changes over time. I enjoy learning and growing alongside patients, and I enjoy living in rural Minnesota.

    Getting to Know Me

In the past, I worked as an EMT and professionally in research to better understand behavior in substance use and addiction. I also did research related to exploring the safety and effectiveness of new medications. Outside of work, I like sailing, skiing and spending time with my family.
