As a physical therapist, I am trained to look at the “big picture” when it comes to my assessment of patients. With an understanding of the entire health history and the situation that led them to seek care, I teach my patients how to manage their condition and offer tools to improve health. Often, this involves self-help strategies along with physical therapy to help reduce pain and increase function. For those with sexual pain or dysfunction, I work closely with other Sexual Medicine providers to determine if pelvic health physical therapy can help. I have seen physical therapy modalities and treatments improve the lives of many of my patients.
My goal with completion of physical therapy care is that all patients are confident with their self-management strategies to they can help themselves long-term.
Why I Love My Work
The concept of pelvic health physical therapy was relatively new when I became a physical therapist in 1998. I knew early-on that I was meant to do this work. I have always been comfortable with the subject matter and my passion for pelvic and sexual health continues to evolve. I continue to be extremely excited about the research and development of pelvic health physical therapy and related services. I thoroughly enjoy working with other medical professionals and utilizing the team approach to merge our skill sets together for the optimal benefit of our patients.I greatly appreciate working with all my colleagues who hold themselves accountable to providing superior therapies and staying consistently informed and updated with the most current practices of care.
