CentraCare Names New President of CentraCare – Long Prairie
CentraCare is pleased to announce Jose Alba as its new president of CentraCare – Long Prairie. Alba started his role on July 25 and will report directly to Bryan Bauck, executive director Rural Health.
“I look forward to working with Jose,” Bauck said. “I am confident that CentraCare – Long Prairie has a strong new president to lead it into the future.”
Alba has been chief ambulatory officer for Astera Health (Tri-County Health) in Wadena since 2019. He also held leadership roles with Sanford Health and Catholic Health Initiatives.
“Jose is a bright, talented and innovative leader with more than eight years of experience as a health care executive,” Bauck said. “He will be a tremendous asset in CentraCare’s efforts to advance our purpose of always listening to and serving the needs of our communities.”
Alba received his Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead and earned his health care MBA from the University of Mary, Bismarck, N.D. He currently holds fellow status through the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on boards for two local non-profits. He also is working to become a certified rural hospital CEO through the National Rural Health Association.
“CentraCare has a rich legacy in Central Minnesota, and I look forward to leading the Long Prairie campus and working with the communities it serves,” Alba said.
Alba and his wife, Katie, have two children, Mia (5) and Andre (3), and a third on the way. They currently reside in Wadena but are looking forward to finding a new home in the Long Prairie area. Alba grew up and graduated from Staples-Motley High School. He and his family enjoy traveling, volleyball, golf, and relaxing on the lake with family and friends.
