CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital makes Best Hospitals list by U.S. News & World Report
As part of its Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, U.S. News & World Report ranked CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital as one of 57 hospital in the nation with strong ratings in the handling of nine surgical procedures and chronic conditions.
The annual rankings evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals for these surgical procedures and chronic conditions:
- Colon cancer surgery
- Lung cancer surgery
- COPD
- Heart failure
- Heart bypass surgery
- Aortic valve surgery
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
- Knee replacement
- Hip replacement
Only slightly more than 1 percent of hospitals evaluated received the top rating in all nine procedures and conditions.
St. Cloud Hospital is ranked third overall in Minnesota for Best Hospitals, behind Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
U.S. News also ranked CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital as Top 50 in the nation in four adult specialties: pulmonology & lung surgery, cardiology & heart surgery, gastroenterology & GI surgery and geriatrics.
Four adult specialties were called out for being high performing: nephrology, neurology & neurosurgery, orthopedics and urology.
