CentraCare and University of Minnesota Physicians Partner to Expand Orthopedic Services in Central Minnesota
CentraCare and University of Minnesota Physicians have formed a new partnership to meet the growing demand for orthopedic services in St. Cloud and its surrounding communities. The organizations have a shared vision to create an orthopedic program of unsurpassed clinical excellence that is easily accessible for those who live in the rural communities in the central part of the state.
“Our partnership with University of Minnesota Physicians allows CentraCare to deepen our commitment to providing the best healthcare to people in this region,” said Ken Holmen, MD, president and CEO of CentraCare. “We are excited to bring one of the country’s leading orthopedic groups to St. Cloud and to improve access to care for people in this region. We share a common future vision for orthopedics and care to our community.”
“Our partnership with CentraCare continues our history of collaborating with excellent healthcare systems statewide,” said Denis Clohisy, MD, University of Minnesota Physicians Orthopedic Surgeon and University of Minnesota Medical School Associate Dean for Surgical and Procedural Specialties and Chair, Department of Orthopedic Surgery. “We are delighted to partner with CentraCare Health and create orthopedic services through innovative care, application of our clinical and academic expertise and collaboration with current care teams across Central Minnesota.”
Full development of the orthopedic program, including a comprehensive orthopedic center, will occur over the next several years.
