Published in Media Releases

CentraCare Health – Monticello’s Birth Center has partnered with Big Lake’s ECFE in the Park program to support a healthy summer for children in the community. This free program kicks off its second year on June 13, 2018 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Liberty Elementary Early Childhood Playground and continues every other Wednesday throughout the summer at various parks throughout Big Lake. Each event has a different theme that promotes healthy choices for children in a fun and engaging way. Topics this year include gardening, safety, literacy, physical activity, community helpers and animal education.

“Participating in Big Lake’s ECFE in the Park program is important as it demonstrates our commitment to investing in children and families in our community,” said Hannah Whalen, RN, Birth Center Manager at CentraCare Health – Monticello. “Big Lake’s ECFE in the Park program is not only a great opportunity for families to come out and learn about taking charge of their health while exploring the variety of parks and playgrounds in the community, it is also a fun way for them meet our OB/GYN and midwife providers who participate with us at each event. In addition, CentraCare Health – Monticello’s ambulance is also on hand at every event for tours and to promote a safe summer for our youth.”
