Celebrating Vikings-Packers rivalry for babies at St. Cloud Hospital
It's Vikings-Packer rivalry week and the competition is on for the youngest fans at the Family Birthing Center at St. Cloud Hospital.
This week, babies born at the Family Birthing Center will begin sporting either a purple and gold Minnesota Vikings onesie or a green and gold Green Bay Packers onesie — based on the choice of their families, of course. Nurses will keep a running tally of how many "fans" of the respective teams are born during the days leading up to the Vikings-Packers game on Sunday, Oct. 15.
Photos of the Border Battle Babies and their families will be taken and distributed via CentraCare’s social media sites to help each team’s newest fans cheer either "Skol Vikings" or "Go Pack Go!" An update of how many onesies have been given for each team also will be shared leading up to kickoff.
With over 2,900 births per year, St. Cloud Hospital is the largest birthing center in Central Minnesota. To help celebrate special occasions or holidays, the Family Birthing Center team also likes to provide babies born during these times with a small gift to mark the occasion.
By providing comfort, safety and all the medical needs for both high- and low-risk pregnancies, the Family Birthing Center at St. Cloud Hospital takes pride in being designed with patient- and family-centered care in mind.
