CentraCare Health brings Project H.E.A.L. to Big Lake

Health care volunteers from CentraCare Health – Monticello and various local clinics have partnered to bring Project H.E.A.L. to Big Lake on the first Monday of every month from 5:30 through 7:30 p.m. at the Big Lake Community Food Shelf located at 160 Lake Street N in Big Lake. Project H.E.A.L. provides free health screenings and basic health services for individuals who have little or no insurance coverage. 

“We have seen how Project H.E.A.L. benefits people in the Monticello community and are proud to bring this valuable health care resource to Big Lake,” said Melissa Pribyl, RN, Community Health and Wellness Specialist. “Access to health care is important for all individuals. The goal of Project H.E.A.L. is to overcome barriers to health care for our underserved populations. Because of the generous health care volunteers who participate in this program, more people in our communities can feel empowered to take charge of their health. Supporting a healthy community is our priority.”

Project H.E.A.L. is an outreach program of CentraCare Family Health Center. Physicians, nurses and other health care workers volunteer their time once-a-month to provide care to underserved individualsin various communities for a variety of health concerns from sore throats and head lice to burns and back injuries.
