A meaningful holiday season

Published in General, For the Health of It

The holidays can be a joyous time of year, but they also can escalate stress levels in an already hectic life. While some love the holiday season, others approach it with a measure of dread and the rest of us are somewhere in between.

How can you enjoy a meaningful holiday season?

Take a moment to step off your “treadmill of life” and pause. Consider the following:

  1. What do the holidays mean to you?
  2. What have been some of your most cherished memories from previous holiday seasons?
  3. What are you most thankful for?
  4. What would you most like to remember about this holiday season?
  5. If this were your last holiday season, what would be most important to you?

The holiday season tends to be a busy time. Taking time to decide what is most important to you can help set some limits.

Remember that putting a little time aside for yourself each day can really help you regain a sense of balance and centeredness so you can be more present and compassionate with those you care for. No better gift than that!
