Wall Honors Organ, Tissue and Eye Donors

Published in Media Releases

St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud Hospital’s “Honoring the Gift of Life” wall is now complete. The wall, located in the north hallway on the first floor of St. Cloud Hospital, honors and pays tribute to organ, tissue and/or eye donors who gave the gifts of life and/or sight at St. Cloud Hospital.

The project was funded primarily by the Gilleland family and Gilleland Chevrolet Cadillac, with additional contributions from the St. Cloud Hospital Auxiliary, AVI-SPL and Scenic Sign Corporation.

The "Honoring the Gift of Life" wall display is a nature-themed mosaic that was designed and created by local artists. An interactive computer kiosk allows users to view tributes and photos of their loved ones. The wall honors donors and provides education to patients, families and visitors about the importance of organ, tissue and eye donation. We hope that by honoring our donors, we can pay tribute to their legacy and encourage others to consider organ, tissue and eye donation.

An unveiling and dedication ceremony took place April 29 with a brief program and blessing by Bishop Donald Kettler. Hundreds of guests, which included families of donors, had the opportunity to view the wall and see photos and tributes of their loved ones.
