CentraCare Health Director Receives Women's Health Leadership TRUST "Emerging Leader" Award

St. Cloud, Minn. – Joy Plamann, MBA, RN, BC, medicine care center director of St. Cloud Hospital, has been honored by The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST for providing leadership excellence in health care. Plamann received the award during the organization’s 2015 Forum in Minneapolis on Apr. 21. The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST works to advance women leaders in health care, influence public policy and improve health care in their communities. Plamann is responsible for strategic and financial planning along with quality and patient safety initiatives for three inpatient medical and oncology units, the medical progressive care unit, the Respiratory department and the Hospitalist program.

Plamann has had an interest in mitigating the risks of violence in the health care setting and has led efforts at St. Cloud Hospital to improve the working environment for staff. She participated in the creation of the State of Minnesota Best Practice Road Map and has spoken to a wide variety of audiences across the state and nation on this topic. She is a leader at the hospital and in the community participating in a variety of volunteer projects.

Plamann is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; a graduate from the University of St. Thomas with a Master’s of Science in Health Care. She is also currently pursuing a Doctoral of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
